WATCHING



UNIT 1: the angel of the north

now Charlotte is in Newcastle. She tells us about the city and its most famous work of art ( the angel of the north) created by Antony Gormley. We see this huge sculpture on a hill just outside the city and learn about how it was built. She tells us facts about the sculpture and explains why she likes it



UNIT 2: the guide of dogs

Joe, the presenter, is training for a charity race. He is going to raise money for guide dogs. He takes us to the Guide Dogs Training Centre in Leamington Spa. We meet the guide dogs and find out what makes a good guide dog and how they are trained.


UNIT 3 Music

Roxanne explains the history of listening to music and explores how computers and the internet have changed the way we listen to music. She interviews a band alled The Half Rabbits and asks them about the impact of the Internet on music today.






UNIT 4: the abolition of slavery

Toby tells us about Hull and its most famous resident, William Wilberforce. Wilberforce was a politician who campaigned against slavery. The British slave trade was abolished within his lifetime, but he continued campaigning because he wanted to free slaves all over the world.

UNIT 5: dublin


Dublin is the capital of Ireland, and is the largest city, about 495.000 people live there.
Samantha goes to Dublin (Ireland). she shows us the city and its most important streets, buildings and monuments, including a statue of Oscar Wilde. We hear about Samantha's antecesor.
